In December 2024, Vera Polozkova will present her new book “Lost and found” in Germany. Under one cover it contains texts “about love, about war, about craft, about time, about memory, about what is lost and what is found”. The book is Polozkova’s first non-Russian publication.
There are 77 texts in the book “Lost and found”. 77 is the age of the poetess’s mother, who passed away this year. Vera Polozkova dedicated the book and the concert series to her memory, “her heart, her strength, her humor, her incredible, indomitable will to live and her ability to brighten the days of everyone she loved.” As Polozkova herself says, “this is not a memorial or mourning book, my mother would not have wanted that. Rather, it’s about gratitude for the good fortune of being alive and feeling everything three times sharper, because no one now knows how much will be let go and what remains to be experienced. It’s about what we’ve learned to appreciate after losing so much forever.”
